Larkspur would like to congratulate all the fine folks at All About Dance by Katye on winning the “Best of the Best” Award from Home In The Northland magazine! All About Dance won Best Dance Studio! Below is an excerpt from the article that appeared in the July issue of the magazine:
“Now 18 years in business, Katye Baker and her staff have been instructing children and adults in jazz, tap, ballet and pointe. They have added specialty classes like hip-hop, pompon, tumbling, cheer, and ballroom. The studio philosophy is to encourage dancing, build self-esteem and create relationships. In its third Northland location due to growing numbers, the school has more than 800 students. According to the studio’s owner Katye, ‘Every dance studio has something to offer, whether its drama classes or competitive dance. We are strictly recreational dance. We want the students to be active in school, work and family, but still have that connection to dance. They shouldn’t have to choose one or the other. We still challenge the dancers, but it’s educational and family-oriented.’”
Way to go, guys! So happy for you! And so proud to still be a small part of what you do! Thanks for being our official rehearsal facility and not getting too mad when we scuff up the floors with our cowboy boots and then say we’re going to fix it with the tennis ball trick, but then get you a spa gift certificate instead. And thanks for teaching me to dance on the playground and in your basement rumpus room. Here’s to a friendship that spans 30 years! And to the next 30! Now I’m getting sniffly. Love you, Johnny!
