Miss Kansas Drill Team Festival 2017

January 30, 2017

I think the theme for Miss Kansas this year was flexibility, and if it wasn’t, then it should have been.  In it’s long history, this is the first time the competition had to cancel due to an impending ice storm that brought the entire Kansas City area to a standstill, while we all waited for ice.  Thankfully, Miss Kansas was rescheduled and I got the opportunity to judge some amazing teams and routines!  So much talent in the Sunflower State!  It was fun seeing the following Kansas City Classic teams again:  Gardner Edgerton, Olathe North JV & Varsity, and Shawnee Mission South JV & Varsity!  Their routines just keep getting better and better!  A huge thank you goes out to the inimitable Gail Holder for having me back and congratulations on another fantastic year!

Still waiting for that ice storm,

Melanie

So many goodies that my purse was overflowing. Just one of many reasons I love this contest. 🙂
