IHSDTA Conference

I had a blast at the Indiana High School Dance Team Association’s Fall Conference!  Thanks so much to their board for having me.  I did a presentation on successful dance team coaching and maximizing routines.  I also attended sessions by other presenters and learned a lot as well!  A special shoutout goes to the coaches who attended my session!  You are all doing such a great job and I wish you the best this year.  As promised, here are the handouts, a PDF of the Powerpoint, and the videos we didn’t have time to watch.  I picked some high scoring routines from Missouri teams that I’m hoping will be a good representation of what we talked about:  dancing through transitions, utilizing effective formations, creating visuals (shapes and pictures), having a story arc that goes up and down and up and down, addressing all “planes” of the performance area, etc.

It was a pleasure spending time with you!  I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
