Melanie Dailey

Melanie Dailey has over 30 years experience in dancing, teaching, choreographing, and staging productions. She was the captain of her college dance team, the Rockhurst University Rockettes, and taught dance workshops and clinics across the country for Dancz America. As an instructor, choreographer, and director for Dancz America’s national camp, private clinic and instructional video program, Melanie has taught over 10,000 dancers. She has choreographed for and judged competitions at the local, regional, and state level for the Missouri Dance Team Association, Indiana High School Dance Team Association, Oklahoma Dance Team Directors Association, Miss Kansas Drill Team Festival, North Dakota Association of Dance & Drill State Competition, The One Love Dance Movement, Dance Team Union and Headliners Dance Competition. She was the choreographer, spokesperson and dance director for Toby Keith’s Whiskey Girls, and her choreography won awards for their local televised appearances. For her work with The Whiskey Girls, she also received the Harrah’s Chairman’s Award.
Melanie was the choreographer for the television show “Lucky Break” and appeared on the show as a dancer as well. She has performed at Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, and appeared on ABC’s “Country’s Night to Rock.” Her choreography has also been featured during a performance on the AT&T Blue Room website. She has danced with national country music acts Emerson Drive, Jack Ingram and Toby Keith, and has choreographed dances performed for thousands at Providence Medical Amphitheater, the Sprint Center, and the Hearnes Center. She was a dancer, choreographer and aerialist with a talent management company in Nashville, and was a featured dancer in the motion picture “Redemption Road” directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Michael Clarke Duncan. Melanie was also in “Country Strong” starring Gwyneth Paltrow, the FX television network movie “Outlaw Country,” and a commercial for the College Basketball Experience. She’s been a choreographer and dancer for regional conferences for NKC Chamber of Commerce and Citizens Bank & Trust, as well as national conventions for Silpada Jewelry, Phillip Morris, The Central Veterinary Conference, and the School Nutrition Association.
Melanie has enjoyed commercial dance success, but her first love has always been dance team. She has choreographed award-winning routines for state and national contests with Larkspur Dance and Choreography. She has perfected many routines for dance teams to get their routines ready for competition. One of her greatest professional joys has been watching Larkspur’s dance team competition The Kansas City Classic, grow exponentially to include over 50 dance teams. She also takes great pride in the growth of Larkspur as a company to include many facets: performances, choreography, perfecting (both live and video), tryout administration, and its instructional program of both private and 1-Day clinics. Melanie also served as the Site Coordinator for the Missouri State Dance Team Championship.
Melanie's dance journey continues as she takes on the position of Spirit Program Director for her alma mater, Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.
